History
Larry and Marikka Weitz founded Weitz Sign Company on July 1, 1983. Larry Weitz had worked for Frank Hardie Advertising Inc. since January of 1973, holding various positions up to General Manager of the on-Premise Sign Division of Frank Hardie Advertising. The opportunity arose in 1983 to purchase this division, and Larry and Marikka took advantage of this opportunity.
In 1996, the company purchased a small sign company in the Quad Cities area, I.M. Signs. In 2000, the decision was made to consolidate the name of the company to Weitz Sign Company for both the Dubuque IA and Quad Cities locations.
Overall, our company can be characterized as a quality manufacturer of custom designed on-premise signs.
On October 10, 2003, Weitz Sign Company sold the assets of the retail sign divisions of both Dubuque and Davenport, and is now engaged solely in the business of Wholesale sign manufacturing.

In 2014, Larry and Marikka sold the business to their son, Mike Weitz.
In 2015, Weitz Sign expanded its manufacturing space by over 5000 square feet.
